- Our research develops and optimizes technologies, processes, and formulations to create high-quality, appealing, and nutritionally valuable foods from sustainable raw materials.
- The teaching of food process engineering at KIT combines engineering fundamentals with examples from industrial food production, providing hands-on training in innovative, sustainable food manufacturing processes.
- With our network of industrial and academic partners, we cover the entire food production chain—from field or bioreactor to processing, quality assessment, and distribution.

We’re excited to be part of the new DFG-funded Research Training Group 3076 "Sustainable Hydrogels", which brings together leading researchers from KIT and University of Stuttgart. Starting October 1, 2025, the program offers 9 fully funded PhD positions, including one at our institute!

He successfully defended his PhD thesis on April 25th. We could not be prouder of him.

To expand our group of researchers, we are looking for young scientists with an interest in the different fields of food process engineering.
